SoTL Journals

It is important for educators to engage with journal articles on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).

Here’s why. SoTL research offers evidence-based insights into effective teaching practices, enhancing pedagogical strategies, and fostering student learning outcomes. By reading such articles, educators gain access to a wealth of empirical data, theoretical frameworks, and innovative methodologies that can inform their teaching approaches and decision-making processes in the classroom. Reading SoTL literature facilitates continuous professional development, allowing educators to reflect on their own teaching practices, challenge assumptions, and adapt to the evolving needs of diverse student populations.

Reading SoTL articles encourages collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue fostering a culture of inquiry and shared knowledge that transcends disciplinary boundaries. By actively engaging with SoTL research, educators not only enhance their own teaching effectiveness, but also contribute to the advancement of the broader educational landscape, promoting excellence and innovation in higher education.
