Jesse Stommel
  • Author: Jesse Stommel
  • About: Currently a faculty member in the Writing Program at University of Denver. He is also co-founder of Hybrid Pedagogy: the journal of critical digital pedagogy and Digital Pedagogy Lab (2015-2021). He has a PhD from University of Colorado Boulder. He is co-author of An Urgency of Teachers: the Work of Critical Digital Pedagogy. Jesse is a documentary filmmaker and teaches courses about pedagogy, film, digital studies, and composition. Jesse experiments relentlessly with learning interfaces, both digital and analog, and his research focuses on higher education pedagogy, critical digital pedagogy, and assessment.

  • Author: Derek Bruff
  • About: Derek Bruff is an educator, author, and higher ed consultant. He directed the Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching for more than a decade, where he helped faculty and other instructors develop foundational teaching skills and explore new ideas in teaching. Bruff consults regularly with faculty and administrators across higher education on issues of teaching, learning, and faculty development. Bruff has written two books, Intentional Tech: Principles to Guide the Use of Educational Technology in College Teaching (West Virginia University Press, 2019) and Teaching with Classroom Response Systems: Creating Active Learning Environments (Jossey-Bass, 2009). He writes a weekly newsletter called Intentional Teaching and produces the Intentional Teaching podcast. Bruff has a PhD in mathematics and has taught math courses at Vanderbilt and Harvard University.

  • Author: Clint Lalonde, MA (Learning & Technology)
  • About: Wrangler of learning technologies by day, Dad, cyclist, soccer fan & home roaster of coffee by night, Clint is an educational technologist and advocate for the use of open educational resources and open education practices in higher education. Clint has worked in the British Columbia post-secondary system for 25 years and is currently the Director of Open Education for BCcampus, a government-funded non-profit organization that provides teaching, learning, educational technology, and open education support to the post-secondary institutions of British Columbia. A founding member of the BC Open EdTech Collaborative, Clint is also on the Board of Directors for the Apereo Foundation and is an Associate Faculty in the School of Education & Technology at Royal Roads University. Clint’s educational interests include network learning, social learning, education technology, and open education.
