**NEW** Access Course Feedback Surveys + Reports in Brightspace

Instructors, we know that feedback matters! Opt-in to NIC’s Course Feedback Survey service and access Course Feedback Survey Reports directly from Brightspace!

(CET and AET courses and instructors are not included in the Course Feedback Survey service at this time)

**NOTE: Students also now have access through Brightspace to start and complete any Course Surveys their instructors have opted into!

Two access points inside Brightspace:

**Note: when opting in your course don’t forget to also opt yourself in as the instructor. This is important as you won’t receive a report if you miss this step.

Begin by accessing your Brightspace Homepage: mycourses.nic.bc.ca. On the main navbar you will see a ‘Course Surveys’ menu item.

  • Instructor Course Survey Opt-in: this takes you out of Brightspace and into the Blue survey software, where you may or may not have courses that are eligible for opting-in to the service. To determine if your course is eligible, see this PDF outlining estimated opt-in dates for most mid-course and end-of-course surveys. For more detailed step-by-step instructions see this PDF.

    **Note: You may have received an email from feedback2@nic.bc.ca inviting you to opt in your courses. Once you opt-in, your students will receive automated emails from the same address with a custom link to complete the survey.
  • Instructor Course Survey Reports: this takes you out of Brightspace and into the Blue survey software, where you can access available Course Feedback Survey reports. You will only receive a report if a) you opted yourself in as the course instructor (see note to the right) and, b) your course survey receives 3 or more responses to maintain student anonymity.

    **Note: Only reports from Fall 2024 onward are available through this service. If you need reports from earlier terms or if you have questions regarding the survey service, please submit a ticket to NIC Service Desk Item on Course Surveys.

**Note: the benefit of this option is that it allows you to see what eligible courses you have for opting-in to the service and what available reports you have access to while in Brightspace.

To opt-in to eligible Course Surveys: Scroll to the bottom of the Brightspace homepage and click the corresponding link in the ‘Course Survey Opt-in’ widget.

To access available Course Survey Reports: Select the term report you’d like to access (i.e., End-of-Course Winter 2025, Mid-Course Fall 2024, etc.).
